The Attraction of Distraction

Reading the news can so abuse
One's sense of balance and taste
Pundits we choose who offer views
Their writing we cut and paste.

A kind of toy that brings no joy
Repeats again and again
For this here boy he must deploy
A different stratagem.

In search of mirth of which there's dearth
In normal conversation
From his wide girth he did unearth
Odd rhyme not straight narration.

What he did find to remain kind
Needs some release of tension
Yet be not blind in the eye's mind
To what folks tend to mention.
